During summer Bucharest is just as lively as the rest of the time, despite the hot temperatures. While some people would rather have their holiday by the seaside or the mountains, there are plenty who prefer to stay in the city as there is no lack of entertainment available.
If you are coming to Bucharest in July, don’t worry about the heat. You won’t feel it if you keep busy! During the day, you can go to a park like Herastrau or Tineretului and enjoy fresh lemonade in a garden pub or go to Snagov or Baneasa and enjoy the morning by the lake. For the rest of the day, you can try one of the hot events that will take place in Bucharest in July 2018.
1. The Art and Theatre Festival “Theater under the Moon” – 29th June- 14th July – InDArt Theater/ club QUANTIC
This is the only independent theater festival in the open air in Romania, so you don’t want to miss it if you are around. This is the 4th edition of the festival, featuring improv shows, jazz concerts, photo exhibitions and independent theater performances. So if you are interested in a festival that promotes open-air urban art, this is an event you will enjoy for sure.
2. “Namaste India” Indian Culture Festival – 9th of July – Elisabeta Theater, Regina Elisabeta no 45 street
This time we are talking about a festival with a tradition, “Namaste India” is at the 10th edition in Bucharest. The festival brings together eight amazing artists in a music and dance performance. If you want to immerse in the beauty of Indian cultural heritage for an evening, don’t miss this event.
3. The International Street Theater Festival Bucharest – 13th of July – 5th August, 19:00- 23:00 hours, George Enescu Square/ Revolutiei Square/ Cercul Militar/ Cismigiu park, etc.
This is the anniversary edition of the International Street Theater Festival. Over 400 performers from all over the world will come to Bucharest to take part in it. The organizers say that the program is more eclectic and dynamic than ever: 4 weekends with over 40 shows, 12 countries.
Music and concerts
1. Judas Priest – Firepower, 22nd of July, Romexpo
The legend of the international rock metal scene is coming to Bucharest in the Firepower tour to present an amazing new production.
2. Andre Rieu – Amore, my tribute to love, 28th of July, Happy Cinema (inside Liberty Center)
Here you can enjoy an Andre Rien fabulous concert in the comfort of a cinema venue. The performance is recorded and will be shown on the big screen.
For those of you who enjoy the Romanian traditions just as much as the natives do, you shouldn’t miss the BBQ Weekend, 13th- 15th of July, Beraria H garden. It’s all about the BBQ, beer, music, and fun and it takes place in an amazing décor, nearby the Herastrau Lake. “Pofta buna” (Bon appetit!).
